One of the worlds most decorated and internationally renowned designers Piet Hein came up with the idea of the 'Great Bear' whilst visiting the Southern Hemisphere and remarking how much he missed the Northern Sky and his favourite constellation the 'Big Dipper', otherwise known as the 'Great Bear'. This inspired him to create a seven branched candelabra to reflect this constellation. The moveable arms swing smoothly to create numerous variations.
