Samum is Astrid Sylwan’s design that is only available in an art fabric in Marimekko's collection. The Belgian born Astrid Sylwan is a visual artist who now lives in Sweden and was brought to Marimekko when artistic director, Minna Kemell-Kutvonen saw her work. Co-operation resulted in three works, which came into Marimekko’s production.
